ABOUT STUDIO ART D IRECT
Support your local artists! Our mission is to bridge the gap between Northwest visual artists and the business community by providing professional art consulting and design coupled with an easy to access online gallery featuring hundreds of artists and thousands of artworks direct from the studios of regional artists.
Services are provided to enhance the image of healthcare, hospitality, corporte and institutional environments while providing owners, managers and design professionals a way to directly support regional artists.
Our online art gallery is available to the general public. You are invited to search and purchase artwork. All works are searchable by size, medium, price, and style. Works are available for sale or lease. We provide a 20-30% to- trade discount. Please contact us for an account.
We are a certified State of Oregon WBE/ESB and are members of The Society of Arts in Healthcare, Local First / Sustainable Business Network of Portland, Portland Art Museum's NW Art Council, and certifed vendors for Kaiser.
Studio Art Direct, Inc. was founded by Janelle Fendall Baglien in 2005. Ms. Baglien has 20 years experience as a project manager, artist, and environmental graphic designer. She has managed over $7 million in site specific art, graphics and signage for some of the Northwest's most recognized developers and projects. Baglien collaborates with designers, architects, owners, and artists to develop unique, site specific art concepts that are custom to each and every project. She personally oversees design, programming, art selection, commissions, fabrication, and installation.
Our services include:
Project Assessment
We begin with a site visit or review of architectural plans. We work with you and your design team to determine art & graphics budgets, preferences, colors and styles.
Proposal
A detailed proposal specifying design, locations, sizes, budget and other information for your review.
Art Selection & Sourcing
Based on your vision for the project, budget and design specifications, we search regional galleries, national publishers and local artist's studios.
Presentation
Specific options can be presented in a variety of mediums - to scale renderings, digitally enhanced photos with works embedded in-situ, power point presentations online or to groups, PDF files, or custom video loaded to YouTube.
Framing
We provide custom archival framing to fit a specific collection.
Installation
Includes delivery and professional installation.
Final Documentation
When requested, we can provide artist biographies, certificates of authenticity, art books, and title plaques.
Identity & Signage
Identity, interior & exterior signage and wayfinding.
Donor Recognition
Recognizing contributors through metal, wood, murals, and exhibit graphics.
Graphic Design
Marketing materials including collateral, identity packages, displays and websites.
Publicity
Your project may be newsworthy. We have an extensive print, electronic and online network. We will generate publicity for you through press releases and awards.

Design professionals searching for art and graphics for projects can save valuable time and money with using our online gallery. Because works are created exclusively by Portland, Oregon and Northwest regional creative professionals, you also support our creative community.
Studio Art Direct also provides a powerful avenue for artists, both emerging and established, to market their works so they can continue to do what they do best - create.

HOW WE SELECT ART
- We search for emerging and established artists by attending art shows, visiting art studios, advertising in trade publications and networking in art associations. We also count on word-of-mouth to find the hidden talents that abound in the region. Do you know an artist creating outstanding works? Encourage them go to our submit art section.
- Artists are required to submit images and descriptions of their work. If the art makes it through the initial review process, we visit the artist's studio or invite them to our offices at 7031 S.W. Virginia Ave., Studio 230, Portland, Oregon, 97219.
- We choose a variety of styles, prices, and mediums so that you can find what moves you and works for a space. We strive to populate Studio Art Direct with art that is inspirational, imaginative, well crafted, and beautiful.
ART CLASSIFICATIONS
- Open Edition applies to original art that is reproduced in unlimited numbers.
- Architectural elements are handcrafted artworks built for an environment. Examples include a metal and glass sculpted conference table, a mosaic tile design for an entryway, a hand carved stone sign for the exterior or a hand crafted wrought iron gate. If you can dream a design, we can find a craftsman to make it a reality.
- Commissioned art is created by an artist specifically for your needs and space.
PRICING
We are a gallery without walls. Unlike traditional galleries, we can offer a huge variety of art created by both emerging and established artists in all price ranges. Pricing of artworks sold through Studio Art Direct are set by the individual artists.
